The Greek philosopher Plato put forth the idea that the classical elements [fire, air, earth, water , æther] have the nature of the five regular polyhedra.

•  Æther - dodecahedron 

Here rendered in welded steel with enamel finish.

Dimensions: All edges are 20 cm

The tetrahedron has height of approximately 16 cm; the dodecahedron has maximum diameter [opposite vertices] approximately 56 cm; height [opposite faces] approximately 44 cm.

Four tetrahedra and one octahedron fit together to create a large tetrahedron.

I lived in Dallas Texas when the "Dallas Piece" was installed in front of Dallas City Hall.

A double helix design using found parts of stainless steel. I designed and built a tool to twist the ends of the pieces for this form.

Stainless steel "cards" in the classic card house arrangement. The top cards are frozen in mid-collapse.
